Dennis Byrd

Dennis Byrd

After two tours in Iraq, Marine infantryman, Dennis Byrd knows what it means to fight. The mission, the brotherhood, and the unwavering sense of purpose kept him alive.

When he transitioned out of the military in 2008,  like so many veterans, Dennis found himself battling depression, anxiety, and insomnia. That feeling of purpose was replaced with an unsettling question: Is this it? He turned to drugs, alcohol and destructive habits to numb the feeling.

Then came a turning point. @Save a Warrior, helped him shift his mindset. He’s been clean for nine years, and in that time, his mission has become clear: to help other men rediscover their purpose and become the leaders, protectors, and providers they were meant to be.

A call from a friend on the brink of ending his own life, inspired Dennis to start a men’s group focused on real conversations about pain, struggle, and what it means to be a man.

Through his Instagram, Dennis expands that reach, helping men embrace strength—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. He shares his own journey, from overcoming addiction to weight loss. His live workouts, meal plans, and motivation aren’t just about fitness; they’re about building the next generation of men who lead with purpose.

@dbyrd embodies what it means to be a True Victory Ambassador, fighting for something greater than himself and inspiring others to do the same.

Dennis knows his greatest battle may not have been in Iraq—it was finding his mission after the uniform came off. By showing up every day and sharing his story, he’s helping others fight their own battles, proving that a warrior’s purpose never truly ends. It just evolves.
