HitLab | Building Kids' Confidence through Sports and Camaraderie

Our kids are growing up in a world filled with constant comparison, endless scrolling, and voices telling them who they should be.

Anxiety, self-doubt, and loneliness are affecting young people at levels we've never seen before. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 40 percent of high school students reported feeling sad or hopeless.

HitLab was founded in June 2023 with the goal of bringing high-quality coaching and player development to athletes throughout Manatee County.

HitLab's mission reaches beyond coaching. Ask anyone involved, and they'll tell you the mission runs much deeper than improving a swing or increasing velocity. Character is just as important as talent.

Their mission is simple:

"Growing the whole athlete as an athletic, humble, and resilient competitor."

Every drill, every practice, and every conversation is executed with that purpose in mind.

Many of the founders were raised with strong faith and families who taught them that life is about serving others, not simply serving yourself.

That perspective continues to shape the culture of HitLab today.

They believe God is at the center of their mission, and they strive to reflect His love by creating an environment where athletes and families feel welcomed, encouraged, and genuinely cared for.

Many people see the weekly games and go home, but so much more happens behind the scenes.

The HitLab team spends countless hours discussing how they can better serve athletes and families.

They evaluate programs. They improve communication. They look for ways to create better experiences.

They wrestle with difficult financial realities as a nonprofit organization.

Yet despite the challenges, they continue moving forward because they believe every young athlete deserves a place where they're seen, celebrated, and encouraged.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, they provide scholarships that allow children to participate regardless of financial circumstances.

Generous donors help make those opportunities possible each year, ensuring that more kids have access to quality coaching, mentorship, and a community that believes in them.
